1953 Buick Skylark Convertible by Brooklin Models

The story may be apocryphal, but it is nevertheless, one of the most intriguing tales to come out of the automotive industry. It goes like this: one day in the 1951, the chief stylist of the General Motors' Buick division Ned Nickles,  was at his desk doodling, making plans for customizing his own Buick Roadmaster. The general manager of the division, happened by and was impressed by what he saw. Realizing that the board of directors was looking for a special model to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the marque in 1953, Wiles decided on the spot to submit Nickles' doodles. The result was one of the 1950s most legendary cars: 1953 Buick Skylark. It was added to the Motorama line up for 1953 which included The Cadillac Eldorado, Buick Skylark, Oldsmobile Fiesta and Chevrolet Corvette.
Much of the body and engine work was done by hand thus accounting for the 5,000 price tag.  The Skylark‘s exclusive nature was such that Buick engraved the original owner‘s name in silver on the tripartite medallion in the horn button.
The 1953 Skylark was released in a quantity of only 1.690. Consequently, this ultra-luxury full-size sports convertible once described as „The Million Dollar Ride“ is highly prized by collectors.
A model  as handsome as the original. A dashing convertible with long ,flowing lines and extra low windshield. A two-way chromed „sweepspear“ began at the front wheels and dipped sharply ahead of the rear ones before „jumping“ over them and ending near twin „bullet“ taillights on each rear fender. Model finished  in Ridge Green color featuring  openable doors and hood , detailed Thunderbolt V-8 engine and chassis.  A look inside shows authentic green and white upholstery with chrome-printed relief handles and trim on the door panels, detailed instruments, silver-painted switches, radio fascia, and steering wheel with chrome  horn ring.  The model of the first series of Franklin Mint does not have all the details, but the quality  of chrome parts is excellent.
Despite the fact that it is a 25-year-old model, this  Franklin Mint belongs to the generally very easy to find models.

1953 Oldsmobile Fiesta Convertible by Brooklin Models

One defining event of 50s American car culture was GM’s Motorama, a no-holds-barred display of dazzling technology and stunning styling. A series of dramatic styling exercises captivated the public, but most were not for sale. For 1953, the GM made an exception, offering three of the previous year’s “dream cars” in limited-production numbers: Cadillac Eldorado, Buick Skylark and Oldsmobile Fiesta. Scarcest of these was the Oldsmobile Fiesta, a limited-edition custom convertible created from the top of the line Oldsmobile 98 , a stunning design that pioneered several features at Oldsmobile, including a wraparound windshield, exterior trim, “spinner” wheel covers, which became a trademark on later Oldsmobile , attractive two-tone paint schemes in exclusive colors and a very high level of standard equipment.
Fiesta was the most luxurious and most powerful Oldsmobile offered in 1953. With a price tag of $5,715 back in 1953, it‘s easy to see why only 458 were built. It was also the most expensive-nearly twice the price of the 98 model convertible on which it was based. The Fiesta‘s influence would be seen and felt for years to come.

This beautifull early Brooklin fully captures the Oldsmobile 1953 „dream car“ in the shape of stunning turquoise blue and white baroque cloud.
The car has styling with „hockey-stick“ side trim, wraparound Panoramic windshield, beautifully modeled chrome bumpers, chrome stone guards, jet hood ornament, fender skirts, spinner hubcaps, white convertible top boot and rear-mounted Continental kit spare. It is a pity that fender mounted antenna and door handles are molded only-
The model was due to extravagant shape soon completely sold out and is now is very rare.

1960 Chevrolet Impala 4 Door Sport Sedan by Brooklin Models

There aren’t too many things more American than a vintage  Chevy Impala.. Few Chevrolet sedans have been as charismatic as the second generation 1959-'60 models, with their characteristic "bat wing" tailfins.

A more conservative approach, with „jet smooth“ lines, evident with the aircraft inspired side trim. Chevrolet changed much of the bodylines from the more wilder ‚59‘s. The new look for 1960 suited the glamorous top of the line Impala, as Chevrolet reshaped and separated the famous  (from my perspective) horizontal „bat wing“ tail fins, and added 3 round tail lamps to the rear. Additional features included a short molding strip extending back from the headlights, twin pairs of bar molding above and below the fender strip, the quarter panel missile ornaments had 2 moldings streaking rearward, and the area between them was filled with a white insert and Impala script.
The 1960 Chevrolet Impala also became the best-selling automobile in the US, and continued to hold that position for the next decade. Luxury leader of the low price field for 1960s standards,  you could choose from four new Impalas – Sport Sedan, Sport Coupe, 4-Door Sedan and Convertible.  Total Model production for the Chevy Impala in 1960 was around 511,925 produced. Of that 79,903 consisted of Convertibles.The ‘flat top’ styling of the four door sport sedan, was carried over, although sales figures were a third of the regular sedan. The ‘flat top’ is a much prized collectible today.

The experts at The Brooklin Models have created a handsome model using their new one-piece, chromed frame “birdcage” for the windshield and all window surrounds. This is clever, because when the contrasting color roof is fitted, the result is a very accurate and good-looking pillarless hardtop model with great rear panoramic window. The rocket mascot is very well done, grill is black-washed All exterior trim, is done with carefully fitted separate plated white metal pieces
Both the lines and details match properly from all angles, and dimensions are right on 1:43 scale. A truly terrific Chevy model.

1949 Ford F1 PickUp Coca Cola Delivery by Mnichamps

The Ford F-Series truck has become a staple of the American road, enjoying unprecedented success in the Eighties and Nineties. The Ford truck has been the best-selling vehicle of any kind in America and the emblem of the truck mania that has swept through the U.S. auto market. Was there a single soul who could have imagined such a thing in 1948?
This is the first generation Ford F-Series produced between 1948-52 as a replacement for the previous car-based pickup line introduced in 1941. It had a flat, one-piece windshield a wider cab and integrated headlamps. F1 was the smallest of F serie 1/2 ton serving the broadest range of needs experienced by farmers, tradesmen, and merchants. Car was on the standard of today's small size. Only roof height was taller to accommodate the majority of truck owners who, as was the custom in those days, wore hats.

This model Minichamps is combination legendary brands Ford and Coca Cola - two door pickup model Coca Cola delivery (Official Licensed Product) in dark yellow color with matt black painted running boards. The grille composed of five thick horizontal bars and headlights resided in a recessed panel on the face of each vehicle. The ledge above the grille held chrome block letters that spelled out "FORD" and above this sat a large alligator-style hood with bright-trimmed "nostrils." The front bumper is painted in Coca Cola red color instead of the usual chrome. The same red color is applied to the wheels instead of the usual body color. All these details are faithfully captured in the model. The only inaccuracy is missing passenger-side windshield wiper. The pickup bed used a plastic imitation of hardwood floor with metal strips and wooden side panels. Coca Cola logo on the doors and the roof is very decently made. Model manufactured in 2010 can still be brought.

1952 Cadillac Series 62 4-Door Sedan by Brooklin Models

The Series 62 was a series of cars produced by Cadillac from 1940 through 1964. There were three series available on three different wheelbases. By far the most popular was the 62 and the four-door sedan outsold all other body styles combined.
In 1952, to commemorate the Golden 50th Anniversary of Cadillac, the V-shaped hood and deck emblems were done as gold castings. The Series 62 sedan was also characterized by a higher rear deck lid contour. This provided additional luggage space. Back up lights were now standard equipment and were incorporated in the taillights. The grille wraparound panels were redesigned once again having broad chrome trim below each headlight with side scoop styling and gold-colored winged emblem mounted in the center. At the rear all Cadillacs adopted a through the bumper dual exhaust system. Notice the beautiful decent tail fins . Deck ornamentation took the form of a Cadillac crest over abroad golden "V".

Amazing Brooklin white metal model is extremely heavy and exudes luxury and pomposity  of baroque shapes of the original. Black finish is the best choice for a formal impression. On the black excelling amount of of chrome parts - gorgeous grille, bumpers, door handles, windsreen wipers, bonnet trim, headlights, side trim, rocker panels and boot trim & handle . Nice detail is "Golden Anniversary Trim" - golden plated bonnet and boot badges. My only criticism, and it's a minor one, is that dashboard is a dull. This is must have model.

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hot Rod by Franklin Mint

Like so many other trends, hot-rodding began in California where drivers would take their souped-up car out to the salt flats to race. On a Saturday, one could see a variety of hot-rods parked at a drive-in dinner...revving its engine at a red light on Main Street... cruisin around the neirghborhood... or headed to the straightways out of town for some good old racing.
The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was perfect for souping-up. It aleady was available with a dynamic Super Turbo-Fire  Corvette 265, V8, fuel injection engine, they feel when the engine was dropped in it purred with the silky flow of power. It had clean lines, impressive fins and an aggressive front grille, and combined with a hot-rodder's customized accessories and pain finish, the Bel Air was undoubtedly the best thing on the streets each Saturday night.
"The Hot One hotter" was the slogan touted Chevrolet in the fifties, and today the same slogan still rings true for this Franklin Mint 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. The model has an authentic dramatic fiery painted surface, which is a high-end. Opening hood with detailed engine.  The front grille  with badge is a masterpiece. Quality chrome trim along the body and around the windows, no silver imitation. There’s well-done interior detailing, with beautiful red steering wheel with chrome middle part. The chassis is standard in high-level.  Model belongs to the rarer Franklin Mint.

1941 Packard Clipper 4-Door Sedan by Brooklin

The Packard Clipper is an automobile built by the Packard Motor Car Company in the years 1941-1947 and  represents the best of its age.  The original 1941 Clipper debuted as a single four-door model priced at $1,420. This made it a fairly expensive car, competing with the Cadillac Sixty-One, Lincoln Zephyr and Chrysler New Yorker.
The 1941 Packard Clipper was one of the last cars built by Packard before it shifted to military production for the war effort. The car was available only as a four-door sedan featured a smoothly curved modern body, drawn by noted designer Howard 'Dutch' Darrin. His design molded body and fenders into a dramatic flowing shape that contrasted sharply with the traditional design themes. After the war, Packard resurrected this design for the 1946 and 1947 model years.
 The Clippers were very unique and innovative for their time. Distinctive body shape and design of this Packards  we can recognize in Bentley and Rolls Royce 1956-1961 models.
Brooklin has accurately recreated all these features in a flawless white metal body with smooth and glossy paint.  Packard Clipper is one of the first Brooklins. At the beginning were selected in simple but distinctive shapes. There are only a few plated parts - bumpers, grill, lights and hood ornament., Door handles are only relief-cast. The Maroon  body paint is excellent, but fonts are unreadable.
The interior is very simple, there are no inner door handles or cranks. Both the lines and details match properly from all angles, and dimensions are right on 1:43 scale.  This one’s very accurate in all respects, and it’s a real beauty, easy to find on e-Bay at a bargain price.
