1949 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday Sports Coupe by Brooklin Models

 BRK 073 - 1949 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday Sports Coupe

Oldsmobile’s first all-new post-war model was its Series 98. Following a GM practice of first debuting special features such as the later panoramic windshield and hard-top body styles on senior models, the 48 employed new styling with a lowered hood line that converged toward a higher fender line. Oldsmobile called its new model “Futuramic“.

Oldsmobile's revolutionary 1949 'hard-top convertible coupe' was modeled by Brooklin in 1998. Brought out in a Praline Brown Poly over Tawnee Beige, it enjoyed a short production run of 16 months; this was during a time that GM wanted scale model manufacturers to pay royalties to the large company for the use of its images. Brocklin's model is, of course, based on the Series 98 and is a credible albeit simply detailed replica.

It is typical of later Brooklin products, in that well-proportioned with accurate styling, major details cast into the body or picked out with chrome parts, durable parts, and a solid feel to it. It has a fully chromed trim. The interior once again, is simplest has accurately-shaped seats, steering wheel and dashboard.

In 2005 Brooklin issued its 114th model, a mid-blue 1949 Oldsmobile 88 Club Coupe with light blue wheels and whitewall tires. An accurately proportioned scale model, it has separate chromed windshield wipers, hood mascot, hood emblem, and door handles, rocker panel molding and hefty chrome stone shield all of there own." on each rear fender. It is a very nicely made model that Brookin also introduced as a California Highway Patrol cruiser in its International Police Vehicle line. In black with the 'CHIPS' emblem made. prominently displayed on each of the vehicle's white doors, the model appears to be historically authentic. The Highway Patrol usually purchased one type of car each year for its fleet, usually a heavier high-powered automobile that would hug the road

1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 4-door Sedan by Brooklin

The Oldsmobile 88 is a full-size car that was sold and produced by Oldsmobile from 1949 until 1999 and became the top-selling line for twenty-four years.
This Oldsmobile 88 is the 3rd generation. Styling highlights were more evolutional than radical overall with three-piece rear window styling utilized on this car.
Oldsmobiles from 1957 are instantly, profoundly fascinating, no matter what model range you mean because every single one of them turned its back on the fin frenzy, instead bringing to market a luxuriantly rolling tunnel of sheetmetal resting atop each rear fender, proudly crowning a creased-in character line, the pipeline for an imaginary surfer, it almost seems to appear. It’s only the most immediately obvious trait of a continuous, ovoid styling theme that also incorporates the enormous, chromed bumper and grille combination, the headlamp surrounds, and, after a fashion, the three-piece backlight. The Oldsmobile shared its hardtop styling with Buick's Caballero. Sedans and coupes had twin ridges that ran each side of the roofline and onto the rear deck. These divided opinion at the time.
Rose Mist Poly paint matches Alcan White perfectly, and there’s lots of separate chrome-plated trim, right down to the strong side curves that are slightly recessed into the body. That trim was often used to separate eye-grabbing two-toned schemes, like this. Brooklin also made a single color Jade Mist Poly, which is not nearly as nice.

1953 Oldsmobile Fiesta Convertible by Brooklin Models

One defining event of 50s American car culture was GM’s Motorama, a no-holds-barred display of dazzling technology and stunning styling. A series of dramatic styling exercises captivated the public, but most were not for sale. For 1953, the GM made an exception, offering three of the previous year’s “dream cars” in limited-production numbers: Cadillac Eldorado, Buick Skylark and Oldsmobile Fiesta. Scarcest of these was the Oldsmobile Fiesta, a limited-edition custom convertible created from the top of the line Oldsmobile 98 , a stunning design that pioneered several features at Oldsmobile, including a wraparound windshield, exterior trim, “spinner” wheel covers, which became a trademark on later Oldsmobile , attractive two-tone paint schemes in exclusive colors and a very high level of standard equipment.
Fiesta was the most luxurious and most powerful Oldsmobile offered in 1953. With a price tag of $5,715 back in 1953, it‘s easy to see why only 458 were built. It was also the most expensive-nearly twice the price of the 98 model convertible on which it was based. The Fiesta‘s influence would be seen and felt for years to come.

This beautifull early Brooklin fully captures the Oldsmobile 1953 „dream car“ in the shape of stunning turquoise blue and white baroque cloud.
The car has styling with „hockey-stick“ side trim, wraparound Panoramic windshield, beautifully modeled chrome bumpers, chrome stone guards, jet hood ornament, fender skirts, spinner hubcaps, white convertible top boot and rear-mounted Continental kit spare. It is a pity that fender mounted antenna and door handles are molded only-
The model was due to extravagant shape soon completely sold out and is now is very rare.

Oldsmobile first used the Starfire name on a one-off show car at General Motors’ 1953 Motorama auto show held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Named after the Lockheed F-94 jet fighter plane.
The top of the line body-style was the Convertible and sold for $3380. A total of 8,581 examples of the convertible were produced for 1956. The car comes with the famous Oldsmobile Rocket V8 motor coupled to a Hydro-matic transmission.
